Google Maps for Saudi businesses: how to set up and grow your Business Profile

How Saudi businesses can show up on Google Maps: claim and verify the profile, pick the right primary category, keep hours and Ramadan hours accurate, add real photos, get and answer reviews, and keep details the same everywhere.

When someone in Saudi Arabia searches for a café, a clinic or a salon near them, the first results they see are usually on Google Maps. Your Google Business Profile is that listing. Google does not charge for it, and it often brings more calls and visits than any post. This guide covers what matters most, in order.

Claim and verify it

Search for your business on Google Maps. If it already appears, claim it; if not, add it. Google will ask you to verify that you own the business, often with a short video or a code. Use the exact business name customers see on your sign, without extra keywords, because Google's guidelines do not allow stuffing the name.

Choose the most specific primary category

The primary category is one of the strongest signals for appearing in local results. Choose the most specific one that describes your main business, such as "Coffee shop" rather than "Restaurant", then add a few secondary categories only if they are true.

Hours, including Ramadan and Eid

Wrong hours lose customers and bring bad reviews. Keep your regular hours accurate, and use special hours for Ramadan, the two Eids, Founding Day and National Day, so nobody arrives at a closed door.

Real photos, often

Add photos of the outside so people can find the entrance, the inside, your products or menu, and the team. Real, recent photos help people choose, and adding new ones regularly keeps the profile fresh.

Reviews: ask, then answer every one

Reviews, their number, how recent they are and whether you reply, are among the main local ranking signals after the category. Ask happy customers at the right moment, with a QR code or a short link, and reply to every review politely, good or bad, without sharing any customer details in public. Never buy or write fake reviews: they break Google's rules and can be removed, or get the profile restricted.

Keep the details the same everywhere

Use the same name, phone number, address and opening hours on Google, Instagram, your website and delivery apps. Add your website and the link people should use to order or book, and update the profile whenever anything changes.

Track what it brings

The profile shows how many people called you, asked for directions or visited your website from it. Check these numbers every month next to your social media results, and add tracking to the website link so your analytics show the visits that came from Maps.

Our tracked link builder makes that link in seconds.

When to get help

Our social media management service keeps your Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok in line with your Google Maps profile, and our analytics and reporting service shows which channel brings calls and visits every month.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Google Business Profile cost anything?

No. Google does not charge for creating or managing a Business Profile.

What helps a business rank on Google Maps?

Choosing the most specific primary category, collecting and replying to reviews, and keeping the profile complete and accurate all help. The distance between the business and the person searching also matters.

Should I reply to bad reviews?

Yes. Reply politely and quickly, offer to solve the problem privately, and never share customer details in public.

How do I set Ramadan hours on Google Maps?

Use the special hours option in your Business Profile for each day that changes, including the Eid holidays.
